Lights play a major role in safe driving – the chances for accidents increase if you can’t see or be seen. The lighting system provides night time visibility, signals and alerts other drivers, and supplies light for viewing instruments and the vehicle’s interior. Some tips:
- Lights are normal wear items that require periodic replacement.
- Get your bulbs checked and replaced if you see rapid signal blinking or dimming lights.
- Let a professional replace the bulbs. Incorrect bulb specifications can damage the electrical circuitry. Cut-outs may be required if the vehicle isn’t fitted with one by default.
- The RTA has specific recommendations on bulbs than can be used. Follow them for hassle free driving.
